First of all, sorry for the long absence of post on the Chip Wagon since the playoff loss to the Saints. Speaking for myself, I need a break from football after an Eagles season is over and it just so happened to coincide with some busy times at work.
Anyway, I had been thinking of ways in which we could keep things going in here during a long and slow offseason. My co-author David and I are not college football buffs. We obviously enjoy it, and watch it, but there is a lot of great stuff out there on the blogosphere to learn about the top college prospects so we likely won't talk about that much in here.
Also, I didn't want to dig deep into film study of free agency simply because I would rather wait and do it on players that we actually sign. Meanwhile, guys like Sheil are killing it as usual over at Birds 24/7 with All-22 on some prospective FAs.
Anyway, one of the things that I've decided will keep me busy, and is also somewhat productive when you consider the theme of this blog, is to recap the top 25 plays of Chip Kelly's first NFL season. It was a roller coaster ride and considering all the question marks and predicitons of what Chip was actually going to do in the NFL last offseason, this offseason we at least have a template to work from.
So keep an eye on this space throughout the offseason as we break down the top 25 offensive plays of 2014. Note they will be a mix of simply great plays, meaningful plays, but we will also spend some time trying to wax philosophical on some of these plays and what they potentially mean for the future of the Philadelphia Eagles offense.
As of right now, I have a rough idea of what those plays will be and what order they fall in. I'll probably post #25 the beginning of next week and will work from there. Meanwhile, if anyone has any suggestions, ideas, or nominations, feel free to leave them in the comments and I'll see what I can do.
